THE SEVEN DEADLY SCENES

My concept is to archive the user’s experience within illusions that are created by me. I decided to record the user’s experience using hidden CCTV cameras, leading me to explore surveillance within the site. After realising the result of the mapping, and how the site was covered with CCTV cameras, I wanted to let people know that they are being watched more than they think. During my investigation of surveillance in Strood, I found an interview of a CCTV worker in Strood, I realised that there is a humanised side to surveillance as the person watching the CCTV footage would have their own lives, ‘the control’ essentially becoming a ‘guinea pig’. This led me to making the user within my archive to experience the two aspects of surveillance described.
